    Unanswered: date format related query

    hi,
    is there any datatype that will fetch the time in milliseconds. timestamp is restricted only to seconds.

    No it isn't - what makes you think that? TIMESTAMP (unlike DATE) supports fractions of seconds (up to 9 digits after the decimal point).

    that's the whole POINT of timestamp.

    before that I believe you had to create some stored java to get millisecs
