    Unanswered: Calulating in a Report

    I have created three text fields that add totals in a report group footer i.e. =Sum([VerifyTime]), =Sum([LibEffort]), =Sum([CatalogTime]). Now I would like to add these fields in the same footer.

    =Sum([VerifyTime]+[LibEffort]+[CatalogTime]) doesn't work.

    Any suggestions out there. Thanks

    Assuming the following:

    [txtA]=Sum([VerifyTime])
    [txtB]=Sum([LibEffort])
    [txtC]=Sum([CatalogTime])

    Create another text box and include the following in the Control Source:

    =NZ([txtA])+NZ([txtB])+NZ([txtC])

    Calculating in a Report Footer

    Putting =NZ([VerifyTime]+NZ[CMEffort]+NZ[CatalogTime]) as the Control Source gives me an inaccurate result.

    I am adding numbers with decimals.

    Is that the problem???

    Try the following and see if the results are correct:

    =NZ([VerifyTime])+NZ([CMEffort])+NZ([CatalogTime])

    Additionally, make sure that you are using the text box names and not the field names in your calculation. [VerifyTime],[CMEffort], and [CatalogTime] should be the names of the three text boxes involved. In terms of the decimals, I don't think they should be causing you a problem.

    =NZ([txtA])+NZ([txtB])+NZ([txtC])

    This is easy. Create a new text box on the desing view for the report. On control put =+[txtA] + [txtB] + [txtC]
    In datatype Put Currency and u have the calculator

    heman85, the user shows two fields as being TIME, so Currency won't work there.

    Hi gatewoodps,

    To better help things, just exactly are the FieldTypes for these three fields?? Seems that maybe we might be trying to add Apples to Tires which don't compute. Just by looking it seems that VerifyTime and CatalogTime are Date/Time fields? What about the LibEffort??? What is that??

    Calculating in a Report

    In a report I have groups named "Project" which has multiple values and "Request" which has only two values. In the "Request" group footer I have done totals of numbers from three fields (=NZ([VerifyTime])+NZ([CMEffort])+NZ([CatalogTime]). The problem I have is getting a grand total for the two values.

    Any suggestions will be well received. Thanks.
