I’m looking for a data architect for a premier financial services client, with whom we have a long-standing relationship.
The client is moving from Sybase to Oracle as a whole and needs an Architect that can help them migrate legacy/old systems, as well as develop new systems with Oracle. There are over 200 systems and applications in this area and they need to make sure all these existing and future systems communicate and that the data integrity stays intact. Data is stored in many different databases and some will no longer be supported so there will be transition and migration issues as well.
They have several data modelers and DBA's but they need a strategic Data Architect who can evaluate the whole situation and drive the strategic planning. They will conduct analysis of the applications and systems and define what needs to be done to facilitate the flow of data. They need to lay out the issues the client needs to be aware of, but also capable of being hands on in order implement changes. Any ETL expertise is good as well. We have currently System Architects working in this group to facilitate common architecture, communication and re-use strategies.
