    Unanswered: Caching Partitioned Tables

    Hi,
    I have a Partitioned table with current size as 2GB .

    It is a key table used for some very High Priority Reports.
    If my RAM permits, I would like to have this table configured in KEEP pool.

    The statement
    alter table <table name> storage(buffer_pool keep);

    works successfully but when I see dba_tables for "buffer_pool" it is seen as "default" only.

    Any clue ??
    Thanks!

    It should work though if someone has specified it at the partition level this will override the table setting.

    NOTE make sure your keep pool is bigger than 2GB (big enough for all keep pool tables) and that you have free RAM still available otherwise any performance benefits of the keep pool will be lost due to swapping.
