Exclamation Unanswered: Rename and getting data from another table

    Hi there!

I have a very good challenge here for everyone who will try to help me...

I want to do the following tables:

    Visitors
    --------------------------------|
    (Index)Visitor_ID - Long Integer |
    VisitorCompany - Long Integer |
    VisitorName - Text |
    --------------------------------|

    Companies
    ---------------------------------|
    Company_ID - Long Integer |
    CompanyName - Text |
    ---------------------------------|

can you tell me how can I:
    -Rename Visitors.VisitorCompany_ID
    -Create VisitorsCompany as Text
-Get the Companies.CompanyName and put it on Visitors.VisitorCompany

I would like how to do this, all in sql statements.....
I would be very very gratefull to all of you....

Do you care about order? If not, try the sql ALTER TABLE command ...
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...

are you SURE you want to do this ???

your current table structure is very much better than the structure you are trying to move to.

...before doing something unfortunate, please try using a query to return the results you want to see. it's supposed to be a relational database - the very last thing you should want is a whole bunch of repeated company names as text.
