Pharma client in central NJ has 6 months + consulting opportunity for Oracle Application Server Administrator.

Job Description:
Application Server Administrator provides expertise in the areas of application server installation, maintenance, support, documentation and administration of Oracle 9IAS and Oracle Databases.

• installs, upgrades, patches, tuning, performance monitoring, application deployments, OC4J container management.
• Participate in defining and documenting policies and procedures for maintenance of the systems and able to encourage the productive sharing of knowledge and experience.
• Creates and manages user accounts, including roles, profiles and privileges. Familiar with oracle applications and oracle database security features.
• Configure the application server components such as OPMN, DCM, HTTP, OC4J, Webcache, Portal, Discoverer, Oracle Forms services, Oracle Report services
• Manage the system deployment in development, QA and production environments
• Manage clustering, load balancing of application server components
• Optimize the performance by adjusting the server settings
• Start and stop the server components as and when needed
• Monitor application server logs
• Administer the application server metadata repository
• Develop and maintain standards, procedures and methodologies for effective operation, access, control, backup and recovery of all application servers.
• Provide support for all application server related issues
• Coordinate application server related security requirements including basic education, user guidelines and access authorizations
• Must be able to provide technical support on weekend changes or maintenance in on-call situations outside of regular business hours.

Experience Level:
5+ Years

• Five years Oracle Database administration experience.
• Two years of Oracle 9iAS experience
• Oracle 9iAS System Administration (certification preferred).
• Oracle DBA (OCA/OCP).
• Experience in documentation of SOP’s
• Solaris knowledge.
