    Unhappy Unanswered: SQL*plus Oracle->Excel

    how do you export results of sql plus to excel directly from the dos prompt? is there something like sqlldr (excel csv->oracle) that does the opposite (oracle->excel csv)

    i want to do this in the dos prompt.
    i logged into the server, run a query, but dont know how to export this.
    any help?

    The manual way is to create your output as comma separated, spool the output, and open in Excel.

    [code]
    set feedback off
    set head off

    select col1||', '||col2||', '||col3
    from table

    spool file.csv
    /
    spool off

    Probably not what you are looking for, but will do the job.

    How about approaching it from the opposite side and importing the data into Excel via ODBC? This way you'd cut out SQL*Plus and could script it from within Excel.

    Just a thought.

    Cool

    From the data menu option in eXcell, use import/export new database query. You must have a current odbc connection as the current schema owner.
