Unanswered: Subform dilemma ... Acess 2000

Hi All ... (This includes you too Ted)

Okay ... I have a subform that interacts with it's parent but IS NOT linked. What I'm doing is listing existing accounts #'s in this subform. The parent has a listbox with available account #'s. Also in the parent, is a series of textboxes in the "account number" layout (per my client) that I extract the digits of the selected account # in the subform. MY PROBLEM is on startup and shutdown (entry and exit). Because I've setup the subform to invoke a public sub of the parent form in it's Current event, and because the subform loads before the parent form I've had to make a flag to prevent the parent form sub call (pretty easy). The issue is upon exit. I'm trying to figure a way to do the same on exiting the form ... Any ideas?

Got something that works!!!! Added a form header to the subform with a unbound textbox. Set the textbox value to True to "not run" ...

a subform var & subform txtbox have the same lifetime -

in favour of var: i suspect that a var is very slightly faster to "draw" than even a hidden txtbox

in favour of txtbox: if you only hide after development is done - you can easily see what's going on for debugging.
