    Unanswered: oracle 10g: svrmgrl is not a recognizable internal and external command

    How do i start service manager in oracle 10g?
    i typed in
    c:\set ORACLE_SID=ACCPACSID
    c:\svrmgrl

    the following error occured as svrmgrl is not recognized

    'svrmgrl' is not a recognizable internal and external command

    Now done through sqlplus using the sysdba privilege i.e.

    sqlplus / as sysdba

    SVRMGRL was the Oracle7 utility that replaced SQLDBA in Oracle6. In Oracle8i we moved to SQL*Plus, which had existed for a while but finally got enhanced to support DBA functions. Both SVRMGRL and SQL*PLUS could be used. I think in 9i the SVRMGRL went away. It's not shipped with 10g.
