    Unanswered: Recovery Error

I got the following error when i try to perform a recovery. Can anyone guide me how to resolve this problem.

"The specified host user is not a member of the operating system DBA group. The host user must be a DBA group member since the database user does not have the SYSDBA role."

    I'm using Oracle10g.

    Thanks in advance.

backup and recovery are special procedures reserved for only those users with SYSDBA privileges. Are you authorised to do recovery? If so, Look in your /etc/group(assuming you are on UNIX); use a user name in the DBA group; or have your name added to dba group by Unix Administrator. Then you can sign on to the system and execute sqlplus /nolog
connect / as sysdba and your restore

I did not assign the oracle user to the DBA group.

I have resolved my problem... Thanks.
