    Unanswered: Pasting from Excel

I am trying to paste some data from Excel into Access. One of the excel fields containts a large amount of text on seperate lines (using Alt+Enter in Excel). When I paste it into Access it all appears on one line.

Can anyone suggest how I might paste it across but keep the layout on multiple lines?

    Thanks. Nick.

Not sure you can paste it directly into access retaining the line breaks, unless you could write a query which at run time replaced the <alt> with <ctrl>

You can force line breaks in Access data using <control> & <enter>

    Hi nickdonlevy,

If you are pasting it into a Table in Access, then after you paste it simply Open your Field wider by dragging the box Down to open it wider. (The left side of the table where the Arrow is pointing to the right showing which record you're on)

    Trying 'Importing' rather than copy/pasting.
