    Unanswered: Hot backups timing differences

    Hi,

I need some information as to how I can investigate or why there are differences in modified times for our Oracle 9i database backup DBF files. All the DBF files have the same modified time except the TOOLS01.DBF and one of the DATA.DBF files.

    Any help is much appreciated...Thanks

By how much do the times differ? (e.g. are we talking hours' difference, in which case there may be something that needs further investigation, or seconds' difference, in which case it's probably to do with how long the backup takes to run from beginning to end).
90% of users' problems can be resolved by punching them - the other 10% by switching off their PCs.

about 16 hours? Is it possible that it's to do with a lock on a particular object in the database (the backup is an online hot backup so actions could be taking place on the database) ? and so when it is released the backup updates to keep consistency?
