Unanswered: Importing Tablespace from One DB to Another DB...

    Hi DBAs!

I'm very new in the field of DBA and the scenerio I am facing is as below:

I'd a database in which I added a new tablespace TS with datafile "TS.dbf". Also I added two datafiles to an existing tablespace PO with names "PO01.dbf" and "PO02.dbf".

Then I creaded two databases DB1 and DB2 from this database. All workedfine till Jan12th. But then after, these three files in DB1 are showing RECOVER status, while in DB2 all is working fine.

I have only 5th cold backup of DB1... but I don't want to refresh the database from that backup as a lot of work has been done since then.

    So, my questions are:
    1. Can we replace these three .dbf from 5th backup.
    2. I've export backup of DB2 (database which is working fine)... can I import tablespace TS and PO from this export backup of DB2 into DB1.

    TS contains only one object/table...
    PO contains 1495 objects.

Please Help me in this... I'll provide further information if needed.

    Thanx,
    WAL...

Have you tried to recover them thru the database recovery process ???
What does the alertlog tell you (usually in bdump directory)? Do they show
    needing recovery in v$recover_file ???

No, I didn't try that... Actually, I don't have any testing instance and I am afraid to do any experiment in this instance

I am sending you the result of two queries:

SELECT * FROM v$recover_file showing following result:

    106 OFFLINE FILE MISSING 0
    107 OFFLINE FILE MISSING 0
    108 OFFLINE FILE MISSING 0

whereas select * from v$datafile showing following result:

    106 567991201 null 106 106 "RECOVER" "READ WRITE" 0 null 0 null 5679913502431 1/18/2005 9:52:30 AM 0 0 null 0 0 0 8192 "C:\ORACLE\ORA81\DATABASE\MISSING00106" 0
    107 5679912534201 null 72 107 "RECOVER" "READ WRITE" 0 null 0 null 5679913502431 1/18/2005 9:52:30 AM 0 0 null 0 0 0 8192 "C:\ORACLE\ORA81\DATABASE\MISSING00107" 0
    108 5679912580736 null 72 108 "RECOVER" "READ WRITE" 0 null 0 null 5679913502431 1/18/2005 9:52:30 AM 0 0 null 0 0 0 8192 "C:\ORACLE\ORA81\DATABASE\MISSING00108" 0

    Thanx

    Wal...
