Unanswered: Copy record to another database

I'm looking for a way to move all my completed orders to another database. Is there a way to copy or move records to another database?

    Thanks

    Yes!

but why dont you just have a table in your db for completed orders and link it to your second db

    Just a thought

    Sorry, I'm new to Access.

I already have a table for completed orders. How do I link it to the second db?

    Thanks for your help

Here' the code you're looking for:

    DoCmd.CopyObject FileName, TableName1, acTable, TableName2.

In English, this means as follows: Copy the table in the current database called "TableName1" into a file (in your case, a database) called "FileName", and call this new table "TableName2." This works for whole tables only.

See the MS Access Help for the CopyObject Method for an exhaustive explanation of the above.

To copy records, use a query to make a new table or append an existing one, even in another database. Just make sure you're copying the right records...
    Good luck.

to link a table all you need to do is

1 go to your new database
2 go to the tables tab
    3 click on new
    4 choose link table
5 navigate to your original db
6 choose the table from the list provided

    and thats it
