    Hi,

    Is your database Access 2000!?
And the other people version of Access is XP or 2003?

If so then, that error happened to me when i used Access XP and 2003. The problem is, that if you have functions like Date(), or Now(), etc. in the predefined value or other property of a table's field, and if you put the expression, for example, like this: =Date(), in Access 2000 will work, but in Access XP or 2003 will not, and will generate an error, which happened to me: "Function Date() unknown in field "Field name""

To solve this problem you have to delete the "=" in the expression.

Thanks for the advice and you may have helped me with another problem i was having with another database but they all use 2000 down here.

It annoys me because i create a lot of databases and they all work on mine then seem to mess up on other peoples computers??

Try checking the references (and versions) on your computer against the other computers.

Just checked the references and the versions that are there are the same...

I did find one error that was using the left() function, ive taken that out but it still wont work.

Its really frustrating, why cant they all just work together?!!!

Right drop this, i know it sounds stupid but after the 15th time of compiling it, it has decided to work.

    Hi,

Check if the properties of the database is the same in your Access 2k and on others pc's.

click on tools menu bar and options, compare the selected items.

Or, check if the Office was fully installed in the others pc's, because some how Access can't locate the functions.

And one advice, if you are using DAO, change the references to ADO. Don't use DAO. Modify your code if you need to, but is better to use ADO then DAO.
