    phpmyadmin

I highly recommend phpmyadmin if you have php running on your server.

The installation files explain everything you need to do to set it up. If you're a newbie, the tricky part is setting up the config files to be protect the database appropriately.

Another very good tool is SQLyog.
    Very fast and smart client.

Choose ist, that is like Mysql-Front just newer and free.

What do you mean by choose ist? I've been trying out demos, so far I like EMS MySQL Manager, but I don't know if I like it enough to pay for it.

What i would say is that you should try this tool,
it has the same (or even more) features than Mysql-Front,
and this Tools is Free Software.
    And it is very fast.

I find the latest version of SQLyog to be pretty good. MySQL-Front, at least the version I was most recently using, couldn't handle MySQL 4.x.

I noticed a few SQL clients had problems with user management when they added the SSL field to the mysql.user table.

SQLyog is fantastic, its amazingly fast! Thanks for the recommendation, I love it.

Sorry, but cant agree with you. i have tried to use SQLyog to move a complete DB from server to server. Just after a few 10.000 records it got slow near a 100.000 of 34.000.000 records i was able to count 1,2,3,4,5 more records.

This behavior occured when using the ODBC-Importwizzard with option "Import from other MySQL-DB". ServerSync was not supported by the other DB. So i cant give a Statement on this feature.

SQLyog and MySQL frontend are both very good tools.
Regardless the speed of such actions i would prefer SQLyog. phpmyadmin i think is just good for small dbs.

Why not just mysql dump it? Just curious.

I've used SQLyog for a total of maybe a couple hours and I love it so far. Its very responsive and intuitive. I'm going to see if I can't install a copy to my thumb drive so I can take it with me easily.

    Wow! Thats awesome!

Any idea of the limitations of the LITE version?

    According to their website:
"The Freeware LITE versions of our products may be used for any legal purposes for an unlimited period on unlimited number of computers without any restrictions. The Freeware LITE versions are fully functional and do NOT contain any ADWARE or SPYWARE."

So you can even use the LITE version commercially, for free?
