    Unanswered: MySQL MYD File Format

    Hello,

I need your help in this crises (sort of crises)
I had a harddisk crash, and data from the harddisk has been deleted,

I am able to retrieve some large file, but I don't know their names and which table they belong to also which database,

I have 3 big databases, each of about 500 MB which i want to retrieve,

Any one can tell me any hint about the MYD file format,

    Is it documented somewhere

    Any one help please

    Regards
    Issam

MYD file name will give you the name of the table
the folder where you find the file will give you the name of the database
.frm file will give you the table schema

But it's always better to use backup and restaur them

My problem is that i have files without file names (recovered inodes)

Can I construct at lease an frm file that most likely look like the original frm to guess the table?

i.e. can i get something like

    field a could be varchar(50)

    field be could be number

    and so on

it will be really difficult if you don't have any schema

You need this schema to restore your database
