    Unanswered: How would I...

    I have just created an online website that stores the answers to a survey in a database. The database was made in Microsoft Access and the page is of course coded in Coldfusion. Does anybody know how I can make it so that a person can only complete the survey once instead of as many times as they hit the submit button? I'm guessing you use their IP..but I don't know how.

    Thanks in advance..

    Would like have a look @ the data base

    Why not Mark the database when the survey is compeled.

    But then Query the Database if only not compete then get to ask the Question

    Can get the user IP address by

    ThereIP = Request.Servervariables("REMOTE_HOST")

    Here a Littlle bit of

    asp that will list all the Request.Servervariables

    Code:
    <table BORDER="1">
    <th COLSPAN="2">ServerVariables</th>
    <%
    Dim var
    For Each var in Request.ServerVariables
    Call Response.Write("<TR>")
    Call Response.Write("<TD><B>" & var & "</B>:</TD>")
    Call Response.Write("<TD>" & Request.ServerVariables(var) _
    & "</TD>")
    Call Response.Write("</TR>")
    Next
    %>
    </table>

    Thanks for your input..it helped me put the final pieces of the puzzle together! It is officially up and running now and the survey results can't be spammed by the same user anymore!..I guess unless they have dial-up because that is a dynamic IP address....hmm..oh well!
