How exactly did you do the upgrade? What steps did you use?

I've got the Developers edition installed an XP Pro, and occaisionally load 50 Gb databases to test, although I don't run them long term (lord knows, I don't have enough disk to kick many of those beggars around)!

I am being told that they put the 2000 CD in and ran an upgrade... It was a while ago, and I am not sure they know all the steps that were taken...

The error we are getting is...

Error 1827: Create/Alter Database failed because the resulting cumulative database size would exceed your licensed limit of 2048 MB per database

This Microsoft KB Article outlines the steps to upgrade from MSDE to SQL Server 2000. Is that the exact error message? A search of Microsoft didn't produce any results for that message or derivatives.
