    Angry Unanswered: Hanging MSACCESS.EXE

    Hi.
Frequently several MSACCESS.EXE processes are active (Ctrl+Alt+Del), even after all instances of Access has been closed.
    - What could be the reason?
    - Is this normal?
    - Can I avoid this?

(It does not use any CPU, but is quite memory hungry.)

    thanks for any advice.
    Sincerely Vestigo

Does your application create new access applications? I do it to copy objects from one database to the other. But I make sure to exit properly. I know I have the same problem with Word when I use Outlook and when I create Word documents using Access. Does anything call or use Access, a VB application or something?

I have had similioar issue with Office XP. For how my current project is being used I have been looking for and playing with code to make sure that access is cleared from the memory.

    Darasen,
Do you, by chance, know what causes this in Access?

are you playing with .XLS or other office stuff in code from your database ??
...if yes, are you sure that all (default=hidden) instances of Excel or other office stuff are closed?
