    Unanswered: how to return only a certain part of a columns data?

    Hi all i have a question to a query
    i have a column which contains data like that "{expr}moredata" (datatype is varchar2) the "{expr}" is always of the length 6 now i need a select query that only returns me that information after "{expr}"
    I would need something like Select Right(tableA.Text)
    in Access it works with LEN() and RIGHT() but i cant find something similar for oracle
    Somebody know how to do that?
    thanks a lot

    That should do it :
    Code:
    select SUBSTR(tableA.Text, 7) from tableA;
