    Unanswered: log required for restore

Is there any way to find out from backup image taken by online backup that which log files will be required while restoring it some other place.

    Let me briefly explain:

We need to transfer backup to some other server.Since we have to take online back up , which needs some log files while restoring to other server so we comes to know about required file while restoring and rolling forward.
If We know while transfering backup and logs it can be known at that time so we can plan ahead instead of moving it while prompted by rollforward operation.

    TIA.

If TIVOLI is used try 'db2adutl query full db DBNAME' ; if backing up to disk, try 'db2ckbkup -l filename'; db2ckbkup -h etc are very useful in restoring.

    use

db2 list history backup all for database <database_name>

check the earliest log and current log.

The current log is your ending log.

If you happen to be on 8.2, you can include the logs with the backup image ...

Have a look at the BACKUP DATABASE command ...
