    Exclamation Unanswered: oracle forms help please

    I am trying to make a kind of splash screen where the user will press a button to choose which of my 2 databases they will log onto ...

    My question is , can I make the initial splash screen run without having to log onto a database?

    if so, please tell me how. as i cannot find any reference anywhere.

    use an on-logon trigger to intercept the automatic logon and then use the built in logon command when you know what database you want to login to.

    yeah right! lol

    I would appreciate if you could give me an example of something to put in the on-logon trigger.

    if you code your on-logon trigger (at form level) and put in a NULL; as the only code, you will skip autologin.

    When you are ready to actually login in use the LOGIN built-in

    LOGON(un,pw||'@'||cn);

    LOGON('SCOTT','PASSWORD@MYDB');

    By the way, all this is in the help for Oracle forms.
