    Smile Unanswered: memory on a tablespace

    Hi,

    I have this eror message while creating some tables in a script sql:

    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-01655: unable to extend cluster SYS.C_OBJ# by 3596 in tablespace SYSTEM

    I think there is not enough space on this tablespace. How can I give more space and how should I connect as Oracle user.
    Could you help me please?

    Thank you verymuch in advance

    Anthony

    Connect as DBA ('connect sys/syspassword@your_db as sysdba') and issue such a statement:
    ALTER TABLESPACE system
    ADD DATAFILE 'new_file'
    SIZE size_of_the_file;

    file is, for example, 'c:\dbfiles\system2.dbs'
    size is, for example, 50M (for a 50 MB file)

    You don't have to take the tablespace offline, shutdown the database or anything else ... just add the new datafile.

    You could also set the current datafile for autoextent ...

    ALTER DATABASE
    DATAFILE 'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORCL\SYSTEM01.DBF' AUTOEXTEND
    ON next 25m;
