    Unanswered: Strange Thing ???

    Hi Guys,

    I have the following annoying situation:

    FUNCTION

    CREATE FUNCTION DEVELOP.IMSI_DECODE (X varchar(15))
    RETURNS VARCHAR(4)
    LANGUAGE SQL
    READS SQL DATA
    NO EXTERNAL ACTION
    DETERMINISTIC

    BEGIN ATOMIC

    IF (SUBSTR(X,1,7) >= '2800191' AND SUBSTR(X,1,7) <= '2800199') THEN
    RETURN('PRE');
    ELSE
    RETURN('POST');
    END IF;

    END

    QUERY

    select DEVELOP.IMSI_DECODE (T.IMSI_IMSI)
    from
    (
    select *
    from DB2INST1.GSM_CALL
    fetch first 1 rows only
    ) as T
    fetch first 10 rows only;

    RESULT (on AIX setup)
    1
    ----
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    POST
    10 record(s) selected.

    RESULT (on Win XP setup)
    1
    ----
    POST
    1 record(s) selected.

    Why do we have this result o the AIX setup?
    We would appreciate your help on this.

    Regards
    Stathis

    I strongly suggest you investigate the possibility that there's a bug. Are the AIX an Win servers on the same version and FixPak. If the Win server is later than the AIX one what APARS have been applied?

    Thank you for you comment.

    Win XP server is ver 8.0.1.36 but runs on single Processor environment.

    The AIX one is 8.1.5 but runs on multi-processor environmnet.

    It is a known bug that is resolved in ver 8.1.6.

    Thanks again

    Problem is resolved

    I moved AIX to version 8.1.8 and the problem is resolved.
