Have you tried setting the focus to something on the other form first?

    Forms!FrmTest!Form.setfocus
    or
    Forms!FrmTest! {Control Here}.set focus

    forms!frmTest!DoCmd.GoToRecord,,acNewRec??

    New record

Your command similar to just saying:

    Forms!FrmTest1.setfocus
    docmd.gotorecord,,acnewrec

should work without any problems unless something isn't being populated on the current form which is required and it's holding up the command. I guess I'm a little lost as to your question. Is the new form set to allow additions? Is something not being populated on the new form which might also hold it up?

i am trying to create a converter to Convert Access information to a IIF file to be imported into quickbooks

I am just testing ways of being able to loop the information to manipulate the table to be in the format it needs to be

I am trying to pull information from a query and have it place the information based on the record it is on in the loop
