    Unanswered: Database security

    Hi,

    I'm handling a db security project, I need some tips/hints to start working? what exactly do I need to do .

    All depends on what you're trying to do for security. I actually teach the 9i Security course for Oracle...you may want to look at it, it's a 3 day course.

    It covers virtual private database, encryption, single sign on, firewalls, blocking of SQL commands, auditing, application user security, and a few other things besides.

    Are you looking for security information on securing your database, an application, or what?

    Hi,


    This project involves everything in terms of securing existing DB (O7,8i &9i), applications, any thing related to DB.


    Note: Firewall exist in my company.

    you need to be more specific. list some details of the project. what are it's goals, why is it needed, was there an issue that brought the project about, etc.
