Unanswered: I'm starting my stage as a database admin. Any professional advice?

My last semester of college is approaching and I've chosen database as my first choice for stage (on the job). Java programming would be my second. All I'm looking for is some helpful advice from anyone already working in the field. What can I expect in terms of projects? How does the database working environment appeal to those of you working in it?

    Thanks for the feedback!

As a DBA (and a Java developer in the past) I'd say - go for a medical school instead, it's not too late.

Read A LOT...I'm serious. Also, if by database you mean Oracle, you should live at asktom.oracle.com and forums like this one...

    Good Luck.
