    size

you mean the size of containers ?
when do you reduce the size or what is the purpose ?
alter tablespace can also be used to reduce the dms container size if possible

    restore into smaller database

actually need to restore a database which is initialized bigger ( with dms tablespace ) but actual size of backup is very small so need to restore at a server with lesser space ( but this space is bigger than actual backup size)

    TIA.

You have following option , all of them applicable to dms , because sms only grab an extent when it required, not like dms that layouts ist container initially.

    1. As guy says resize the dms containers.
    2. add small file to dms and drop the larger file.
    3. do a redirect restore , giving the size of files at the command.

    regards.
