Hey folks. This is my 1st post here and I would like to say thanks for providing this helpful resource.
I am runnning into a problem with a database designed around a table which stores site specific information. There are many 1tomany relationships established already, and these in turn have their own 1 to many relationships...
In any case, I understand there is a 32 index limit in Access 2003. When I try to create an additional relationship, I get a message saying that I am out of indexes. What I do not understand is:
1. If I am really at the limit of 32 indexes, then why can I compact and repair, which supposedly requires creating additional indexes, and according to microsoft will fail if you have 32 indexes present?
2. Why does it need to create an additional index on the master table for each relationship when in fact the relationship that I am establishing is based on the primary key, to which most of the other relationships are also based?
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
