    Unanswered: Simple Question on SQL Plus Settings

    I am trying to cut and paste some SQL statements in to SQL plus and they are not all fitting onto the SQL> prompt.

    The code is wrapping around as follows:
    SQL> Select
    ase rom ytable.
    When I paste, I want my sql to appear as follows.

    SQL> Select case from mytable ;
    What is the setting to change this.

    Thanks

    This is NOT a problem with sql*plus, it is a problem with your cut and paste. Type it in or cut from an editor like notepad and it will work fine.

    Select ALA_
    RIM_ALL.Status, AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL.
    APTION, AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL.LEAD_AUSA, LI
    OMMENTS,
    AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL.
    aseID From AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL, LIONS.L3D_EV
    WHERE L3D_EVENT.
    ASEID = AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL.
    ASEID
    AND UPPER(AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL.LEAD_AUSA) LI
    ENANY, JOHN%'
    AND AL
    A_
    RIM_ALL.STATUS <> '
    ' ;
    ALL.Status, AL

    budha65,

    Have you tried storing that query in an sql script (c:\query.sql) and from SQL*Plus running a:
    SQL> @c:\query.sql

    I'm assuming the code looks OK in Notepad? (Just checking.)

    What version of SQL*Plus and what platform (Windows, Unix)?

    If Unix, could it be to do with the terminal emulator app (PuTTY etc) or stty settings?
