    Unanswered: Suggest database for me

I need a PC resident database that will
automatically email members cards on their birthdays,
and record all the normal things like member name, address, number, date of membership, etc.

This database info must be shared by 5 computers
to track 1200+ members- and growing.
but only 1 computer can change the info
(password could be used here, if 5 PCs use common software)

The database file may be viewable on our web page
or emailed to the four PCs weekly.

    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Nanette

    My suggestion is ....

it depends in your company budget...

If they can buy SQL Server 2000 better

if not, MS Access can handle the recoding for that...

Lightbulb why not Sybase ASE express edition

    Hello,

If your PC which hosts the database is under linux (I don't know), consider Sybase ASE, the express edition, which is free for production use.
But it has some limits: database size limit is 5Go, memory limit is 2Go.

Should be enough for what you planned to do.

    Best Regards.
