    Unanswered: 10g cannot start

    hey,
I just deployed 10g on my system, no previous version of oracle installed on it. I tried to start dbconsle with ./emctl start dbconsole and i get this error
    Code:
OC4J Configuration issue. /home/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_hostname_here_oracle not found.
I don't really know what to do with it but i check the hosts and hostname and IP is there. Any ideas ?? How do i creat this config file ?

    OS?
    Oracle Version? 10.2 I assume?

why do you want dbconsole? you don't necessarily need it.

the password for sys, system etc which you provide during the installation contain digits? I mean password like myname123? or 1myname254? I had problems with starting dbconsole. During my forth or fifth trial and error installations, luckily I opted for character only password & the bdconsole was working fine!

If you got enough time to re-install 10g, just try this option. I've tried through many sources to get an explanation why dbconsoled failed to start when I used a password which had both characters and digits.

    all the best

    10gR2 cannot startup ORA-01092 + ORA-00704 + ORA-39700

I also have the same problem. In addition this:

    I cannot startup a newly created 10gR2.
I use the same scripts that perfectly worked on 10gR1.
    (Solaris 10)

At database open time I get:
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

In the used dump directory there is this message:
    ORA-00704: bootstrap process failure
ORA-39700: database must be opened with UPGRADE option

This is the whole dump file:
