    Unanswered: AutoExtend chunks with Informix

Does anyone know if Informix has the same capability as Oracle with respect to the autoextend feature. With Oracle I can create a datafile and by using the autoextend feature Oracle will automatically grow the file when it gets full.

Does Informix have anything like that for chunks? I can't seem to find anything in the documentation.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

No autoextend on Informix but you can automate it with cron job.

Thanks for the response. Would you have to create a new chunk or can you extend the existing chunk?

    Hi,

The datafiles in Oracle are equal to dbspace in Informix. You can add chunk to dbspaces for prolong this. Use the utility onspaces.
