    Unanswered: Question re: vb code to click link

    We are setting up a table. Three fields. First is MYIMAGE. Second field is MYIMAGEHEADER, third is MYIMAGEFULLURL. The records in MYIMAGE are such as "5433.jpg", "5432.jpg". REcords in MYIMAGEHEADER are all the same:
    http://www.mylink.com/. The records in the MYIMAGE field are similar to how they are actually displayed in our inventory database (we are unable to type in a full URL in this particular system). The third field, MYIMAGEFULLURL, we're attempting to concatenate both the second and the first fields to get
    http://www.mylink.com/5432.jpg. We're able to concatenate in our form, but the link will not click. Better yet, I"m able to set up an ActiveX Control Web Browser to link the picture to the URL that is supposedly in the MYIMAGEFULLURL. The picture displays, but we're having a time getting the link to click. I can't track down anything in Visual Basic that helps. CAn someone fill in this gap?

    About the previous post

    The links don't work - they're just for illustration.

    Still doesn't click

    Thanks, but it still doesn't work. For one, we never know what the URL will be in each record. I tried Application.FollowHyperlink (MYIMAGEFULL). Still no results.

    ready try something like this...

    Code:
    Dim IMAGENum As String
    Dim IMAGEUrl As String

    IMAGENum = Me.txtIMAGENUM (WHEREEVER 5432 comes from)

    IMAGEURL = "http://www.mylink.com/" & IMAGENum & ".jpg"

    application.followhyperlink imageurl,,True

    Try the IE automation

    [vbcode]
    Sub OpenIExplorer(ByVal cWebsite As String)
    Dim lIEObj As Object

    lIEObj = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
    lIEObj.Application.Visible = True
    lIEObj.Navigate(cWebsite)
    End Sub
    [/vbcode]
