The primary role of the QA Test Engineer is to build and enhance an automated quality assurance function for the web-based workflow application which allows medical coders to review and correct the output of the CodeRyte NLP engine. Working closely with the customer support, client implementation, and NLP and web application engineering teams, each QA Test Engineer will be responsible for analysis, documentation, monitoring unit testing, application integration testing, load testing, and performance testing. We are looking for a talented QA test engineer who is excited about bringing Human Language Processing Technology to the healthcare industry.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Creating and maintaining QA testing documents like Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scripts, and Test Procedures
Define entry and exit criteria for system testing
Review of project requirements for testability assessment and completeness
Assist the software engineers in resolving issues related to the requirements, data and data derivations
Provide technical guidance to the test team to ensure test activities are performed according to industry best practices
Develop Perl/shell scripts, utilities, simulators and data sets as required to execute Test Plans
Test and evaluate software/application (Perl and Java) for bugs, functionality, and data validation
Perform system integration, interface, regression, load & performance testing
Prepare Test Results and Test Reports
Report to the team leader findings, recommendations, and defects
Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
Test both batch and real time (Dynamic) applications
Experience with unit test frameworks (JUnit) a plus.

Qualifications:

US Citizenship
Several years experience testing in a data-centric environment
Person should understand the details of the data and the code changes in application releases.
Person needs to be able to look at this complex system and be able to recommend a better way to test it, complete with automated testing tools.
Tester will need to consider how his recommended tool will integrate with other tools.
Tester should have done some development (Perl and Java highly desirable)
Person MUST be able to perform SQL queries.
Someone who is able to do regression testing.
Knowledge of healthcare industry entities, relationships and terminology highly desirable
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail required
Passionate about the end user experience and willing to stand up for the customer
Good verbal / communication / organizational skills

Interact with client integration team for requirements validation and QA purposes

Qualifications:

US Citizenship
4-6 years programming experience with Java and script languages (Perl required)
Demonstrated experience with UI frameworks (JSF or Struts) and automated testing (JUnit and HTTPUnit)
Application server experience (JBOSS or BEA Weblogic preferred)
Experience with programming tools such as CVS/Subversion and ANT
UNIX (Linux) OS expertise required
Database programming in SQL and JDBC desired
User interface design experience with JSF highly desirable
Ontological data modeling and knowledge management
Knowledge of healthcare industry entities, relationships and terminology highly desirable
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail required
