    Unanswered: SQL Loader question

    Can I use dump file (.dmp) as the input data file in SQL Loader? thx.

    If the .dmp was created from an EXP, then nope ... you have to use
    IMP to bring it into a database.

    Why don't you want to use IMP if you have the .DMP file ???

    Thx gbrabham,
    the table for data loading is very large, around 5M records, in fact, I am a DB2 guy, for large table, we will use load instead of import coz load consume little logging, is it the same case in Oracle?
