Unanswered: Beginner needs help error trapping

I am a self taught beginner who needs some help. I can construct a database OK but can't yet do code.

I have a form, 'Details' which contains, amongst other things, a combo box and a check box. The check box is only meant to be checked with some of the values in the combo box. To avoid it being ticked with the wrong values I want something that says - "If checkbox value is true and combobox value is 'x' - then messagebox saying 'you can't do that' " -

I tried to do this as an AfterUpdate procedure on the check box but I don't know how to write this. Can anyone help a frustrated beginner please?

You just said the code almost exactly.

If chkBox = -1 AND cboComboBox = "something" Then MsgBox "You can't do that"
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
