Unanswered: ASE 12.5.3 using VCS failover

I have an ASE 12.5.3 (64 bit) on solaris 8 and using shutdown with nowait with a lot of transactions active (including some in log suspend) to simulate a dataserver crash

We have noticed database corruption issues(600 seris errors) and timeslice errors after we restart the dataserver. This is a sub-production environment and we are trying to simulate a dataserver crash followed by a failover to a new node.

Anybody with similar experience in handling shutdown with nowait

No - it is unusual, but I have seen occasional problems recovering databases that were in log suspend when the server was taken down.

I don't suppose that you're using filesystem devices with dsync off? This could give you problems with a dirty shutdown. I take it that there are no hardware problems reported in /var/adm/messages?
