    Unanswered: sys and system password

I am installing Oracle 9.2 in my Windows 2000 server, in the later step on the installation, it prompt me for sys and system password, I input, and the installation has been finished successfully. After that, I enter sqlplus by typing "sqlplus /nolog", then login as sys by typing "connect sys/<password> as sysdba", I found that whatever what password I input, it allows me to login.

Do I need to configure something to enable the security?

Since you are a member of the "dba" group, Oracle does not require any password from you.
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
