    Unanswered: ORA-12224: TNS:no listener

    May I know what's that error?
    I had the listener.ora, tnsnames.ora and the sqlnet.ora in my C:\orant\net80\admin

    But i still get the No Listener error. Please help.

    Then $ORACLE_HOME/bin is not in your PATH.
    Is this a brand new Oracle installation?
    Did Oracle ever run successfully on this system?

    I just installed Oracle 8 on to this system. As I'm using my school computer for my final year project. And that's y I came across this problem. I'm new to oracle.

    TNS No Listener

    I`m sorry , but is it so. I`m also planning to do the same but the admin says it is working.
