    Unanswered: PL/SQL Debug help

I keep getting this error when I run my script.

    ORA-06550: line 42, column 9:
PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "SELECT" when expecting one of the following:

When I go to line 42, column 9, there is nothing there. Is there a way to find out exactly which line is causing the problem?

If it's a CREATE TRIGGER script, the numbering starts at the first BEGIN or DECLARE, i.e. at the start of the PL/SQL.

How many times does "SELECT" occur?

In SQL Plus, you can type this to see what is on line 42 of the SQL just run:

    SQL> l 42

Or to see it in context:

    SQL> l 40 44
