    Unanswered: How to Blank pad the hostvaraibles in Oracle 9

    Recently our oracle database is upgraded to 9 from
    All my C/C++ programs connecting to oracle using pro*c. They are coded on the basis that oracle returns spaces when the database column is NULL.
    Now with 9 version NULL is not blankpadded. NULL is coming as NULL into host variables. I tried with precompiler options char_map = charz , but no use.

    I included this statement in my makefile :
    PROFLAGS2= include=${BATCHDIRCOPS}/include include=${ISSCOMMONEMBD} /include \
    include=${ISSCOMMON}/include char_map=charz

    Can any body help me????
