Unanswered: Copy partially data from one oracle instance to another

    Hi,

We have two different environment one is production and the other one is testing. In production environment we have lot of valid data's, we want to some data's(rows) along with foreign key mappings to be copied to testing environment. Is there any tool available for the same.

    We use oracle database.

    Awaiting for the response.

    Thanks and Regards

    Arrow export & import

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood. If you just wanted to copy some data from one DB into the other one, just export the tables to a dmp file, and import the file to the target DB.

Let me elaborate on the requirement

The production environment has enormous data's with respect to various scenarios, but when trying to simulate some of them into the testing environment we miss out the foreign key mappings. Due to this we face lot of data issues instead of valid coding issues.

Data should be cloned from one instance of Oracle DB to another instance of the same. We don't want the entire set of data's to be copied/cloned as it occupies more disk space, we just want to clone employee id's starting from 100-200 and all its foreign key data's.

    Thanks and Regards

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.

import/export as well as database links allow you to restrict data based on a WHERE clause. You have to come up with it yourself though.
