Unanswered: transaction log backup/event 208 from job

    hi,
    newby dba.
have a maintenenace plan and job to do transactino log backup
it shows as failed with event 208 from step 1. In the sql log it just says transaction log backed up .. .no errror. There is a file from the backup too as expected ... not sure if it is the correct size etc (only 80k) how do I check that?
Saw a message on the web about quoted identifiers being off causing the maintenance proc to fail- add parameter -SupportComputedColumn to the end of the call. I have done this even though this may not be the cause.

I want to try it out to see if it works, but can I do a transaction log backup whilst users are on the database?

Any other opinions on how to get around the 208 error would be greatly apprciated.

    cheers

    transaction log backup job failure

    hi,
have tried running the lg backup online via the job. Have added the parameter suggested, it makes no difference. Seems as though it worked because the file is in the backup location, the sqlserver log says log was backed up and event viewer says the same. but the job in sqlAgent shows it as a failure with event 208 but no other details.

Here is the command the job is executing...
EXECUTE master.dbo.xp_sqlmaint N'-PlanID 32EC92A0-F05D-4D4E-AB54-0C4CCCE3DD42 -WriteHistory -VrfyBackup -BkUpOnlyIfClean -CkDB -BkUpMedia DISK -BkUpLog "F:\MSSQL\BACKUP" -DelBkUps 1WEEKS -CrBkSubDir -BkExt "TRN" -SupportComputedColumn'

    any ideas ?
