Unanswered: How to make input mask of the date

    Hi:
    MS Access
    In Table:

I want to make the input mask as mmddyy

    Date/Time datatype
when the user enter the date value eg. 072105 => 7/21/2005 (system change)
I want to skip the slash character.

Can I do that in table?

I know that Text datatype, there is one input mask __/__/__
But, I want to use Date/Time datatype.
    Please let me know.

    Thanks.

Put this into the Input Mask propery of the table field:

    00/00/0000;0;_

If users are going to be entring data via Form, then place the same mask into the Input Mask property of the TextBox used for Date entry.

    This way I know that.

Yes, when we click on the box, the slash come out automatically. But I want to make like that

User enter 072105, then if we close the table or move the cursor on next box, then the date value will change to 7/21/2005.

I think that Table cannot do this action, right.

I think that we cannot the function in the table, right.

we can write in the query, but NOT in the Table.

    wrong

you can put a default format in the tabel defnition, and the format mask. If you defien it prior to creating the form Access will then carry that defintion into the form. For all I know it may even allow you to do this if you chnage the table and then modify a form. It certainly doens't pick up the value if you change the table after the form has been designed.

Yes, we can put a default format in the table, but I cannot do the function in the table.

For example, type 072105, after that, it will NOT change 7/21/2005.

But, we can put this input mask, __/__/__ when the cursor is on the box.

    Thanks.
