Question Unanswered: Database READ ONLY Mode possible on iSeries?

We have 3 legacy DB2/UDB databases on our iSeries that I would like to "retire" in 2006. I want to have these databases available for queries only going forward, both SQL and available to the ERP package we have called CMS5i. Is there anyway to bring these databases up in READ ONLY mode, so that any attempt to alter the data (either by SQL or via ERP package) would be rejected?

I have heard from the ERP vendor that READ ONLY for the physical files is not possible, that we need to create special login accounts that are restricted. I wish to avoid this route, if possible.

    Thanks much
    Jim

Can't you just revoke UPDATE/INSERT/DELETE privileges from the existing user ids?

I am trying the revoke solution, using the RvkObjAut command, but I am not having too much success. Also, there are 120+ users and 2000+ objects, so that is a alot of commands to process.

I am hoping there is an easier way to do this, let me know if you have a smarter way.

    Thanks
    Jim
