    Angry Unanswered: More than 1 column in a field alias

    Hi,

    I'm trying to convert a Access Database to an Oracle Database. For this job I also need to convert some queries. My problem at this stage is how to get more than 1 column in a field alias.
    e.g. In Access you can "[LASTNAME] & ", " & [FIRSTNAME] AS Name". How do I do a thing like this in Oracle sql.

    Thankx in advange,

    Mantaraya

    You omit AS, use ' in stead of ", and || in stead of & :

    LASTNAME || ', ' || FIRSTNAME Name

    You can keep the AS if you like:

    LASTNAME || ', ' || FIRSTNAME as Name
