    Unanswered: copy oracle data

Does oracle have a function similar to SQL's DTS. We have an oracle DB and would like to copy data to a new DB - without having to write sql scripts to do there an easier way? thanks

I don't know what DTS does, but Oracle offers DATA PUMP utilities (in previous Oracle versions EXPORT and IMPORT). Read more about them here.

Shortly, and as an ideal scenario, you'll be able to do that with only two commands:

    On OS prompt (existing database):
    EXPDP system_username/system_password FULL=y DUMPFILE=filename.dmp

    On OS prompt (new database):
    IMPDP system_username/system_password FULL=y DUMPFILE=filename.dmp
