    Unanswered: Virtuell Table

    Hello.

    I have one quetsion.
Is it possible in DB2 to create a virtuell table, like in Access (shortcut to another table)?
Because we have 2 databases and need a shortcut to a table on the other db. So we need not connect to db1 disconnect db1 and connect to db2...
If you know what I mean.

Sorry my english is not the best.

    Greetings from Germany.

I think what you want is known in DB2 circles is call "Federation". There is a whole manual from IBM devoted to it. Check it out.

    I will try to explain...

    I have a database A and a database B .

Now I want to create in the database A a link to a table on database B.
So that we can select the table from database B on database A.

    "db2 connect to A"
    "db2 select * from tablefromdatabaseB*
    "db2 connect reset"

Is this possible? So we neeed not to disconnect and make a new connect.

    Thank you.

Is it also possible when the DB2 Database is V8.1 and the other DB is SQLDS (DB2 on HOST)?
